We are back in New York after a winter in Tucson, Arizona...1 more box to unpack...and all the laundry done..worked on the front garden yesterday...planted a new rose bush...and several pots of geraniums and petunias...trimmed the montauk daisies, and pulled more weeds. Planting flowers and other plants gives me something to look forward too...the Irises I planted last fall are blooming and their beauty fills me with joy. Went to a friends 70th birthday party and to a Marriage Encounter meeting with longtime friends...it was a busy but purposeful day.
Today we went to church...my honey is catholic and I am Jewish...We attend church and temple together...It was something we agreed on 42 years ago before we got married. Then we went to a friend's daughters wedding celebration about an hours drive away...We live on Long Island and a Sunday Drive on the parkway can be like driving in a parking lot...but we were lucky today...very little traffic...We came home on the Ocean Parkway and savored the salt water smell, the boats on the bay and the sea gulls soaring above.
