2 weeks till I am 70

Yesterday seemed to move in slow motion...We enjoyed every moment of being with Nathaniel...of doing grandparent like things...the delight in simple things like a smile, a hug, the joy of a child swinging high in the air...and yes the tired feeling that entered our bones...and we like children fought it off to capture yet one more memory...so today we, I languished...read the Sunday paper in bed...with my morning coffee...luxuriated in a long shower and shampoo....Joe on the other hand worked to put the new dishwasher in...He is a miracle man...I had to read the directions just to see how to put the soap in. It really looks terrific and works well too...We went to church...garden yet some more...it is almost at the point of enjoyment in seeing what you have helped to create...still more weeds to remove and tomatoes to plant and some herbs...going to do some above ground containers in the garden so that we don't have to fight the weeds all summer. grocery shopped and I made a great dinner...I made a new recipe for potatoes...I sliced them about a half inch thick but some olive oil in the frying pan..enough to just cover the bottom...put them in and added water to barely cover them..put a lid on the pan and boiled them until the water boiled out and they started to fry..added salt ,pepper and paprika..after i flipped them once i added fresh garlic and fresh chives(yes, from the garden)..they were crunchy on the outside and soft and tasty on the inside..fresh spinach and a steak completed our dinner...We watched an old movie with Harry Belafonte and Zero Mostel...called The Angel Levine...It was too close to home as it was about and elderly couple who were facing illness and death and yet parts of it were weird and other parts good so we were hooked..but the ending didn't make much sense..so I wouldn't recommend it.
