Great day...yard saling...for treasures...got a car seat for our grandson, sidewalk chalk to play with and three hanging baskets for plants...came home and weeded some more after brunch...planted the dahlias and the canna lilies...and got ready to babysit our grandson, Nathaniel...what a cutie...He had so much fun at the park at the end of the street..up the stairs, down the slide..swings, walked the beach...then home to change and wash up and off to Friendlies for dinner...he asked for a blue balloon...for one who just turned 2...He is pretty smart...he ate his entire kids meal and some of our french fries and loved the whipped cream on his sundae but thought the ice cream was too cold...we walked back home and I picked up a toy piano from a neighbor who was giving it away...so more play time then..bath time and right to bed..I am not sure which of us is more tired, Joe, me or Nathaniel,...but he went right to sleep...No tears or even asking for his mom or dad...just loving being with bubbye and poppi...and we loved the tiring day...it was truly a blessing to be able to enjoy him so fully. I am sure we will turn in early tonight...as tomorrow will be an early morning..no doubt. and, yes today I feel almost 70...I realize how much more energy I had when my kids were small...but then I also remember how tired I was then; and how glad I was when they went to bed so I could relax...so in the long run I guess things haven't changed all that much.
